James

James is a talented performer, educator, and percussionist with a lifelong passion for drums and music. Originally from Country Club Hills, Illinois, James began playing at the age of three. He studied Music Education and Music Technology at Jackson State University and has been performing professionally since 2018.

With experience across a wide range of genres including Gospel, R&B, Funk, Jazz, Classic Rock, Metal, Blues, and music from around the world James brings versatility and a deep understanding of percussion to every performance and lesson. James recently completed a contract with Norwegian Cruise Line and currently performs with the Bluewater Kings Wedding & Corporate Band. As a teacher, his goal is to help students not only learn how to play, but truly understand their instrument.

With James, students will explore playing, reading, technique, and the diverse world of percussion while developing their own musical voice.
